- Description
- The National Human Genome Research Institute intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, DC, for a one-year continuation of a commercial contract for the training of physician and doctoral degree fellows for board certification in Clinical Genetics, Ph.D. Medical Genetics, Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics. It is a requirement of this acquisition that the institution providing this service be in the immediate area of NHGRI (Bethesda, MD) and have a laboratory with equipment and personnel to provide hands-on experience required for board certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG). The staff must include both ABMG board certified molecular geneticist(s) and ABMG board certified cytogeneticist(s) and a genetic counselor to train fellows in applicable laboratory techniques and the clinical interpretation and implications of the test results. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals to Beverly C. Hall at the above address. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within thirty days after date of publication of this synopsis will be determined by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is received as a result of a notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
