Description

The National Park Service at the Statue of Liberty National Monument is issuing a commercial solicitation (Request for Quotations) for Statue of Liberty Archives Cataloging Services. This solicitation will be issued under the authority of FAR Subpart 13.5 - Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The intent of this project is to gain complete intellectual and physical control over the collection of 106 linear feet of textual records, correspondence, contracts, research notes, and photographs plus 36 map drawers of architectural and engineering drawings that relate primarily to the 1980's restoration of the Statue of Liberty. The collection comprises two major parts: (a) project records relating to the physical restoration of the Statue of Liberty and Liberty Island, ca. 86 linear feet and 36 drawers of drawings and (b) historical research materials gathered to document the structural history of the Statue of Liberty that are exclusively textual and images, ca. 20 linear feet of textual materials and photographs. The historical research material comprising (b) is in both good order and good condition and requires less work than the material comprising (a) This project is to be done according to NPS Standards, using the Automated National Cataloging System + (ANCS+) format, NPS Museum Handbook, Part 1 and II, and Appendix D: Museum Archives and Manuscripts, and the Conserve O Grams. USMARC AMC standards apply for cataloging and work shall be performed according to professional archival standards endorsed by the Society of American Archivists. The Request for Quotations (RFQ) will be available via electronic commerce only and can be accessed at http://www.fedbizopps.gov or directly through the DOI National Business Center site at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. The RFQ will be posted to the websites on or about August 27, 2004. Interested vendors are responsible for periodically checking the website for any amendments that may be issued prior to the closing date of the RFQ.
