- Description
- The Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/FEMA, has a requirement for services related to vehicle communications, tracking and position-location for the National Urban Search & Rescue (US&R) response task forces. The DHS/FEMA, NETC Acquisition Section, intends to solicit a quotation from Qualcomm Inc., 5775 Morehouse Drive, San Diego, CA 92121-1714 on a sole source basis for wireless, mobile, data message communications services. The message services provided will be utilized using existing Qualcomm equipment purchased by DHS, as well as web-based systems. Pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), the Contracting Officer has determined that Qualcomm Inc. is the only known source that possesses the ability to provide the service necessary to support this existing Qualcomm equipment. Qualcomm Inc. is the only company that has the existing resources to produce the capability in the time required to meet the needs of the US&R national response system. No solicitation documentation exists. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement in writing within ten (10) days after this announcement appears.
