- This request is for information only and is not a Request for Proposal. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Midlant, Norfolk, VA, is hereby soliciting notices of interest from potential 8a, HubZone small business, Veteran Owned small business, Service Disabled Veteran Owned, and small business sources to provide preventative maintenance, maintenance and repair services, of the electric/hydraulic actuated, maximum security barriers systems located at various Naval Installations in the Tidewater area. The contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, materials, tools, transportation, and equipment necessary to maintain and repair the maximum security traffic barriers. The work shall include preventative maintenance (PM) under the Firm- Fixed Price portion of the contract and repair/alteration of equipment and system components under the Indefinite Quantity portion of the contract. The preventative maintenance tasks shall be performed monthly and annually. Preventative maintenance frequencies are based on manufacturer?s recommended requirements and/or the usage in keeping with the operational standards of each piece of equipment. Measurements and quantities are approximate, therefore, the Contractor shall field verify all areas in the scope of work. All PM work shall be complete and equipment ready for use upon completion of scheduled PM?s. Task Orders (TOs) will be issued to order repair/alteration work. Equipment not included in this contract includes traffic warning lights and their controls not associated with the barrier system. The proposed contract will be a combination Firm-Fixed Price/Indefinite Quantity contract. The term shall be for a period of one year. The Government shall have the option to extend the term of the contract services for an additional period of one to twelve months. The total contract term, including exercise of any options shall not exceed 60 months. A Small Business Set-Aside is anticipated. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811310. The size standard is $6 million. Interested sources should provide a letter of interest via email in Microsoft Word format to: arvett.blount@navy.mil. The letter of interest should include the following: 1) Name and address of firm, 2) Size, status, program, if applicable, (i.e., Small Business, 8a, HubZone, Women Owned, etc.) including type of business and total number of employees, 3) Ownership, 4) Year firm established, 5) Name of two principles to contact, include title and telephone number, 6) Brief description of previous experience that relates to this requirement. Include approved NAICS for your firm. All interested parties information should be received no later than 13 September 2004. This sources sought notice may be amended at a later date to include additional information.
