Description: SUBJECT: PROSPECTUS FOR A CONCESSION CONTRACT FOR OPERATION OF GUIDED HORSE SERVICES WITHIN POINT REYES NATIONAL SEASHORE DESC: The National Park Service intends to issue a Prospectus for the operation of Five Brooks within Point Reyes National Seashore. The concession operation is open year-round. This business opportunity does not include concessioner and government-owned assigned facilities within the park. Any Offeror that is selected as the new concessioner is not obliged to purchase personal property utilized by the existing concessioner in its operations. The existing concession contract between the National Park Service and the existing concessioner expires on December 31, 2004. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that the existing concessioner is a preferred Offeror for this contract because annual gross receipts are less than $500,000. One contract will be issued for this commercial service. The length of the new contract will be for ten (10) years. Any offer, including that of the existing concessioner, must be received by the Chief of Concessions, National Park Service, Pacific West Region, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607 no later than sixty days after the date of publication of this notice in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a concession contract. The Prospectus will be issued August 16, 2004, for a 60-day response period under the terms described in the Prospectus, with proposals due on October 15, 2004, no later than 4:00 p.m. There is a printing cost recovery charge of $50 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $40 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service; you must include a business address (no post office box) and telephone number to receive a Federal Express package.
