- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration?s (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS) is conducting a competition to enter into a performance-based contract for the operations and maintenance (O&M) and optional product improvements of its Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS). This SOO identifies and relates the AWIPS program goals to NWS, NOAA, and Department of Commerce strategic goals. OUR PLAN IS TO ISSUE THE RFP ON AUGUST 13, 2004, HOWEVER, IT MAY NOT BE ISSUED UNTIL AUGUST 16TH OR 17TH.
