Description

USDA, APHIS is in need of Architect and Construction services to renovate an existing facility which was hit by a typhoon. Some of the exterior and interior walls were destroyed. A portion of the renovation work will be accomplished by the building owner with the balance of the work to be accomplished under a contract with USDA, APHIS. Approximately 3400 SF will need to be designed and renovated. The renovation involves providing architectural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection. All construction shall be compliant with all applicable National, State and Local codes. The location of the project is USDA APHIS PPQ, Guam Plant Inspection Station, Building 6-5000, 905 E. Sunset Blvd., Tiyan, Barrigada, Guam. Estimated construction cost is between $100,000 and $200,000 US dollars. This procurement will be awarded as a guaranteed maximum price. Once design drawings are approved, a firm price will be negotiated, with the total design and construction not to exceed the GMP. Performance and payment bonds will be required and DOL wage rates are applicable. No construction work will be authorized until a Notice to Proceed is issued after negotiations are concluded and bonds are received. A copy of the solicitation, APHIS 04 039, is to be released on or about August 20, 2004 on the FBO website. This procurement is set aside for small business under NAIC 236210 in accordance with USDA policy. Firms interested in submitting a proposal are invited to inspect the site on either August 25 or August 26. In order to gain access, please contact Dallas Berringer at 671-647-6030 by August 20. Proposals will be due no later than 2:30 local time, Minneapolis, MN on September 15, 2004. A copy of the solicitation will be available in this office for review.
