Description
NA Question: In the statement of work it requests an Avaya S8100 Media Server, G600 Media Gateway, and a P330. What are you expecting to achieve with this IP Solution? Answer: The SOW provides Avaya product(s) names following the phrase "such as" as a point of reference. The SOW should be read carefully in its entirety in order determine the desired results for this procurement. Question: Will you converge voice and data? Answer: Voice and data networks will not initially converge. However, the SOW states, in part, that the solution should "provide flexible configuration options that supports traditional telephony, internet protocol enabled and/or converged environments." Question: Will you be using the existing data network? Answer: The existing data network will interface with the telephony solution through standard computer protocols. Question: Please describe the network to include the main site and other sites linked? Answer: The solution will provide service for a single site in Arlington, VA. Question: How many sites do you have, or plan to have? Answer: There are no plans for additional sites or coverage beyond the single site main office in Arlington, VA. Question: Is there an existing WAN link between sites? If so, what type of link is it? What bandwidth does it provide? Answer: There are no WAN links within the Committee's local area network or telephony system. Question: How much inter-site voice traffic is expected? Answer: There are no estimates available for the amount of inter-site voice traffic. Question: How much inter-site data is expected? Answer: There are no estimates available for the amount of inter-site data. Question: What existing LAN infrastructure is already present? How much traffic is passed over the LAN? Answer: The present infrastructure supporting the Committee's local area network consists of managed switches and hubs capable of operating at 100Mbs manufactured by 3Com and Cisco Systems. There are no estimates available for the amount of traffic handled by the Committee's local area network. The Committee does not anticipate the telephony system upgrade to increase voice or data traffic over its local area network. Question: What would be implications of passing additional voice and data traffic over the LAN? Answer: The proposed telephony solution should include call flow and station configuration that follows industry standards and the contractor's recommendation, including the number of digits used for intra-office calls. Question: Will you be doing 4 digit dialing between offices? Answer: The proposed telephony solution should include call flow and station configuration that follows industry standards and the contractor's recommendation, including the number of digits used for intra-office calls. Question: How many digital sets/stations? Answer: The Committee anticipates installation of less than 24 digital sets/stations on the upgraded telephone system. Question: Required number of programmable btns for digital sets? Answer: The digital sets should have a minimum of 10 programmable buttons available on each unit.
