- Description
- The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) intends to award a sole source IDIQ contract to Raytheon Technical Service Company (RTSC), 2555 Ellsmere Ave, Norfolk, VA 23322. This contract will provide the FY05 ? FY07 procurement of services for life cycle support of the AN/USC-38(V) Extremely High Frequency (EHF) Satellite Communication (SATCOM) terminals, AN/WSC-6(V) Super High Frequency (SHF) SATCOM terminals, and Global Broadcast Service (GBS) terminals. Since Raytheon is the original designer of the AN/USC-38(V), AN/WSC-6(V), and GBS terminals, Raytheon is the only company that possesses the detailed knowledge and expertise to assess the efficacy of substitute components or to redesign modules and components as necessary to resolve parts obsolescence problems. The life cycle support being provided includes: 1) obsolescence resolution; 2) warranty tracking; 3) failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action system (FRACAS); and 4) test and repair of failed items. The contemplated contract will require the contractor to commence performing these services immediately after contract award. The expected award date of this contract is 15 November 2004.
