- Description
- NASA Glenn Research Center plans to issue a Request For Offers (RFO) using Best Value Selection for A REFRIGERATED AIR TURBINE SYSTEM. This project shall include design, material, labor, fabrication, testing and supervision. The Base Contract Work consist of the following: design and manufacture of compressor loaded cryogenic air turbine system including control system, automatic shut-off valve, suction screens, seal gas system and all interconnecting piping .The Contractor shall provide design and engineering information so that the Government can carry out the design of foundation, piping connections and all necessary services for the complete installation and testing of the Air Turbine System. The turbo expander and compressor are to be mounted and assembled on a single skid complete with all auxiliary systems. The magnitude of the Construction project is estimated between $1,000,000. and $2,000,000. A FIXED PRICE CONTRACT is contemplated. This work is considered ?HEAVY AND CIVIL ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION?. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238290 and $12.0 million in three-year average anneal receipts. THIS IS AN UNRESTRICTED PROCUREMENT. Procurement and Technical related questions shall be directed to: Erick.N.Lupson@NASA.Gov. The firm date for receipt of offers will be stated in the RFO. The Period Of Performance shall be stated in the RFO. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". THE SOLICITATION SHALL BE POSTED AS SOON AS AN RFO OPENING DATE IS ESTABLISHED. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of specifications and drawings] will be available over the INTERNET. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 2000 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. Prospective offers shall notify this office of their intent to submit an offer.
