Description

Project 502-03-103 Furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, and warranties to renovate the existing food service preparation, distribution, and storage areas in building 4 (basement and first floor) at the VA Medical Center, Alexandria, Louisiana. Work includes but not limited to approximately 20,000 gross square feet. The work is to include but not limited to renovation and/or replacement of food preparation and service lines, walk-in coolers and freezers, dish washing area, administrative offices, staff locker facilities, loading dock, storage rooms, and other kitchen support space, asbestos abatement and built up roof repair. All to be done in strict accordance with plans, specifications and schedules. Construction cost range $1, 000,000 to $2,000,000. Completion time 360 calendar days. Ninety calendar day proposal acceptance period required, award is subject to availability of funds. Solicitation documents and applicable drawings will be made available not earlier than 8-19-04 and will be available for downloading from the website http://www.bos.oamm.va.gov/ or http://www.eps.gov/. Offerors will need to click on Solicitation 502-27-04 to download the documents. Pre-bid and walk through of the project time and location will be addressed in the solicitation. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will be available at this web address. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments, it is essential that offerors register on bidders mailing list for this solicitation to receive notification of amendments. Requests for paper copies of plans and specifications must be requested in writing to Attn: Herman Chelette (90C), Contracting Officer or via fax (318) 483-5063, e mail requests not accepted. Award to be made based on price in accordance with formally advertised sealed bid procedures. It should be noted that unsuccessful offerors are required to return bid documents provided or be prepared to reimburse the VA for their cost. NAICS Code 236220 applies.
