- Description
- The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation plans to award a contract for furnishing all plant, labor, equipment and materials and performing all work for removing steel stairways, landings, handrails and structural supports and replacing them with fiber reinforced polymer elements at the downstream north cable riser at Eisenhower Lock in Massena, New York. This cable riser/recess is located within the concrete lock wall, is approximately 6 ft x 10 ft x 100 ft (1.83m x 3.05m x 30.48m) deep from the gallery level and has limited access. The work also includes removing steel access and maintenance platforms and replacing them with fiber reinforced polymer elements at the Vertical Lift Gate cylinder recesses also at Eisenhower Lock. These recesses are located within the concrete lock walls, are approximately 10 ft x 11 ft x 70 ft (3.05m x 3.35m x 21.34m) deep from the gallery level and also have limited access. The contract shall be awarded on or about September 30, 2004 with the work to be completed by March 1, 2005. The cost range is between $100,000 and $250,000. There is a $50.00 US funds non-refundable fee for specifications and drawings. The Invitation for Bid package will be released approximately August 19, 2004 with bid opening to be held on September 22, 2004. Mail your request for the bid package along with the above fee to the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation, Attn: Contracting Office, PO Box 520, 180 Andrews Street, Massena, New York 13662. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation. A firm-fixed price contract will be awarded. Prospective bidders must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database to be considered for award. Please register with the CCR at www.ccr.gov. This project is issued in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to both small and large businesses. NAICS code 238990.
