- Description
- Furnish and deliver F.O.B. destination to Massena, New York, Ekki Timbers, (Lophira Procera). All timbers shall be in 10 ft. (3.05 m.) lengths.Sizes and quantities as follows: Item No. 1: 50 each, 14? x 10.25? , beveled edges; Item No. 2: 110 each, 14? x 13.25? , beveled edges; Item No. 3. 20 each, 10.25? x 8?, squared, clear wood, not beveled. The timbers shall be Ekki (Lophira Procera). All timbers shall be in 10 Ft. (3.05 m) lengths. The dimensions given are the cross-sectional dimensions of the timbers prior to one corner being beveled for the timbers in Items Nos. 1 and 2. The timbers shall be beveled in accordance with drawing to be furnished. The timbers in Item No. 1 shall be ?Boxed Heart? but a protrusion of heart centers/heartwood will be allowed on the unbeveled 10 ? in. (26.0 cm) long side, Item No. 2 shall be ?Boxed Heart? but a protrusion of heart centers/heartwood will be allowed on the unbeveled 13 ? in. (33.7 cm.) long side and the timbers in Item No. 3 shall be ?Clear Wood? (i.e. free of heart centers/heartwood). Note: It is important that any protrusion of heart be only on the side specified and as shown on the drawing because this is the side not subjected to water.) All timbers shall have sound square edges and ends. Tolerances on all dimensions shall be +/ ? in. (+/-0.64 cm). Timbers shall be free from sapwood, rot, wane, cracks other than normal checking and any other such defects. Delivery is required by April 1, 2005. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the St. Lawrence Seaaway Development Corporation. Earlier deliveries will be accepted if cost savings. Request for Quotation will be available approximately August 18, 2004, Response date will be approximately September 21, 2004.
