Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), Bethesda, Maryland has a requirement for DNA samples. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 621511, and the business size is $11,500,000. The genotyping project required is to rapidly assay the genetic variation in a wide variety of known and putative schizoprhenia susceptibility genes. These studies have become more vaible only recently as the throughput and cost of genotyping have made such a large scale project a valid and affordable option. This project shall include at a minimum, but not be limited to, the following characteristics and features. The contractor shall provide Bead-Array Genotyping of NIH project samples; include genotyping of 960 DNA samples x 1536 single nucleotide polymorphisms or SNPs; shall include a total of 1,474,560 genotypes for this project; shall provide quality control provisions to assure this project is delivered in a complete and accurate manner; and shall support the NIMH use of 96 well plates for their research, thus 960 DNA samples is a module of 10 of what is required, an is functionally acceptable. Concerns that respond to this synopsis shall furnish concise responses directed specifically to the requirements mentioned above and are invited to submit capability statements in an ORIGINAL PLUS TWO (2) no later than fifteen (10) days from the date of this announcement. Written responses shall include complete description of the equipment to be provided, containing sufficient technical information to permit agency analysis to establish a bona fide capability to meet the stated requirements as listed above.
