- Description
- The proposed project includes the construction of a 3,562 SF Visitor Center and a 7,525 SF Receiving Building to serve the NIH/NIAID Rock Mountain Laboratories campus. It also includes a new campus entry with gates and guard houses, paving, steel security fence, underground utility work including electrical duct banks, water mains and service lines, sewer mains and service lines, natural gas lines, as well as landscaping. Both Buildings will have fire alarm systems as well as be fully sprinklered. The Visitor Center construction is timber framing, with rock masonry, stud walls, and metal roof. Basic mechanical system is forced air heat and air conditioning with air handling unit with DDC controls. The Receiving Building construction is CMU and structural steel with both metal roof and single ply membrane roofing. Facilities included recessed loading dock, overhead doors, x-ray screening equipment, and storage facilities. Basic mechanical systems include in-floor radiant heat and ice melting and heat recovery unit. Estimated dollar magnitude is between $1 million and $5 million. This proposed acquisition is being conducted by the Indian Health Service on behalf of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and will be an unrestricted sealed bid pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program.
