- Description
- Southwestern Power Administration anticipates a Sole Source procurement to General Electric Canada, GE Energy for GE Energy Services' Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) Components. The RTU components will be used to upgrade the existing model D20 RTU units installed at substation and dam facilities across the power system operated by Southwestern Power Administration. The components being purchased will allow for monitoring and control of the power system by use of Ethernet as the communication media. A sole source award is anticipated as the RTU components manufactured by GE Energy Services are the only components that will work with the existing Southwestern RTUs. No other companies manufacture compatible components because of patent, licensing, and trademark restrictions held by GE Energy Services. Delivery Date: October 1, 2004
