Description
Contractors shall provide all materials, equipment, tools and labor to perform work adjacent to buildings 30, 31, 32, 33, east and west ends, I, J and K Roads, Defense Supply Center Richmond, 8000 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Richmond, Virginia 23297. Work involves installing four (4) each electrically operated, prewired barrier arm gate operators, complete with all pumps, valves, cylinders and electrical devices to move gate arm and limit travel in both directions. A 16?-0? fiberglass barrier arms with safety reflective markings and flashing lights, shall be installed with each operator arm. Contractor shall provide exit loops at each operator for exiting vehicles, photo cell beam motion detectors and goose-neck card reader pedestals with housing, sized to accommodate INDALA card reader p/n ASR-620+PowerProx. Card reader provided by others. Anchorage of operator shall be to existing 2-inch thick asphalt overlaid over an 8-inch concrete roadway. Existing conduit presently in-place for operator sites at J and K Roads. I road site does not have available electrical conduit runs in place and will require electrical connections and breaker to panel board # 31MRC in 31 M Bay. No card reader pedestal or housing will be required at the I Road site, but an exit loop will be required. The I Road site will be utilized for exiting only, except for emergencies. A key switch override with Best lock core and/or manual override, will be required at all operator locations for emergency access. Minimum two (2) bollard posts shall be installed at each operator and pedestal location. Contractor shall submit for approval, shop drawings showing connections to adjacent construction, range of travel, and all electrical and mechanical connections to operator. Drawings shall also show location, size of loop detector, goose-neck pedestal and card reader housing. Equipment recommended for this project will be a Hy-Security Gate Operator HTG 320-3, or an approved equal, sized for high-frequency use and for use with 16?-0? fiberglass barrier arm. Installer shall have minimum three years experience installing similar equipment. Operators shall be built to the standards of the underwriters Laboratories or bear a U.L. label. Contractor shall provide minimum five year warranty against all defects in material and workmanship. Contractor shall accomplish all work in accordance with Facilities Engineers Specifications and drawings. Contractor shall complete all electrical work according the most recent edition of the national electrical code. Contractor is required to visit job site to verify all dimensions, conditions, electrical availability, necessary to meet electrical requirements for operators. All OSHA and Center regulations shall be followed. All work shall be coordinated with Facilities Engineering representative, Mr. Bill Youmans (804) 279-4696, or Johnny Williams (804)279-6107). Please contact Mr. Youmans or Mr. Williams to schedule a site visit. Its anticipated a firm-fixed price contract will be awarded. This requirement is 100% set-aside for small business concerns.
