- The U.S. Army Research Development &Engineering Command (RDECOM)- Natick anticipates the release of a small business set-aside solicitation for the design, development and production of prototypes of an improved glove for use in cold, wet environments using the base requirement of the current Intermediate Cold/Wet Glove, MIL-G-44419. Functionality of this improved glove item is first and foremost. The contractor should have strong research and development capabilities. Technical proposals should be limited to 5 pages. The Government anticipates that this requirement will be a 100% Small Business set-aside. A final FedBiz Opps announcement and solicitation will be released on or about August 6, 2004. The applicable North American Industry Classification code is 315992. The size standard is 500 employees. Firms shall not be reimbursed for any costs associated with the quotes. This will be a Firm Fixed Price type contract. The Government reserves the right to make multiple awards. All deliveries of the gloves will be F.O.B. Destination to U.S. Army Research Development and Engineering Command ?????? Natick Soldier Center, ATTN: AMSRD-NSC-IP-A, Natick, MA 01760-5019, ATTN: Valerie Banville, RM D323, Handwear Project Engineer, PM- CIE. The solicitation will be posted to the Natick Contracting Division's website; www3.natick.army.mil, (go to business opportunities, then to upcoming acquisitions, then to solicitation W911QY-04-T-0088), on or about August 6, 2004. All responsible sources may submit a quote, which will be considered by this agency. Quotes may be submitted via fax (508) 233-5286 or sent by overnight or regular mail to Stephen S. Abate c/o U.S. Army RDECOM, Natick Contracting Division ATTN: AMSRD-ACC- NS, 1 Kansas Street, Natick MA 01760-5011.
