Description

For Sale of Selected Pine and Hardwood Timber: For harvesting of selected Pine trees in Forest Record Unit #21 as specific in the Special Conditions of Sale. The sale consists of approximately 2,961 pine saw timber trees containing an estimated 565,274 board feet Doyle Scale and 1,514 pine pulpwood trees containing an estimated 64 cords. The sale also includes approximately 726 hardwood saw timber trees containing an estimated 90,607 board feet Doyle Scale and 3,890 hardwood pulpwood trees containing an estimated 211 cords. Log scales based on Form Class 80 for pine and Form Class 78 for hardwoods. The timber to be harvested is located on approximately 71 acres of the East Reservation, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. FOR THE PERSONAL SAFETY OF THE CONTRACTOR AND HIS EMPLOYEES, THERE WILL BE NO TIMBER HARVESTING OPERATIONS PERMITTED DURING THE ANNUAL GUN DEER HUNTING SEASON; THE ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE SETS THE DATES. The following dates are the days of the hunting seasons on Barksdale when the loggers will not be allowed to work: November 19-23, 2004 November 26-28, 2004 December 9-12, 2004 December 26-28, 2004 Jan 7-9, 2005 January 21-23, 2005 Anticipated issue date for the solicitation is Monday, 9 August 2004. A 10% bid deposit will be required. This agency will consider bid from all responsible sources. This solicitation will be issued on the world-wide web and can be found at the following website: www.eps.gov. PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE.
