- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate a sole source cost type contract with Sierra Nevada Corporation, Reno, Nevada, for the production of a form fit function Radar Control Group and associated antenna system encoders as part of the AN/SPN-46 (V) 3 Aircraft Carrier Landing System (ACLS). This requirement includes approximately 2 Engineering Development Model units in Fiscal Year (FY) 2005, with provisions for two one-year production options in FY 2007 and FY 2008 for a estimated quantity of 13 production units. Deliveries are to begin approximately 12 months after contract award. Total contract price, including options, is estimated at $30M. Sierra Nevada Corporation is the sole developer of the Radar Doppler Video Processor, which is a required interface with the ACLS system. SNC is the only known source with the technical expertise and proprietary data necessary to meet this requirement, pursuant to Title 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1).
