- Description
- The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for fuels management services 12 miles north of lee Vining, California. The purpose of the STEWARDSHIP PROJECT is to decrease the intensity of future wildland fires, and to increase the safety of the residents, private property, and fire fighters working to protect private property and suppress fires. This treatment should significantly alter the fuels profile, and result in conditions which would produce a wildland fire of lower intensity, thereby making it easier and less dangerous to control. The proposed action is to hand cut, limb, and buck pinyon pine with chain saws on up to 1,000 acres of BLM land adjacent to and in the vicinity of homes and private property in the Virginia Creek/Willow Springs area along Highway 395, south of Bridgeport, California. This includes furnishing labor, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals to perform all work necessary to accomplish the required services. The period of performance will begin on or about September 13, 2004 and continue for approximately 75 days. This requirement is 100% set-aside for small businesses under NAICS 115310. This solicitation will be available on or about August 5, 2004. A pre-proposal site tour will be held on August 19, 2004 at 9:00 am at the intersection of U.S. Highway 395 and Virginia Creek Road, approximately 12 miles north of Lee Vining, California.
