Description
Subject: KC-135 Toilet Assembly Kit Sources Sought & ROM. Description: THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT. A SOLICITATION IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. A REQUEST FOR A SOLICITATION WILL NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. Due to the increased age, unsanitary design and limited capabilities of the current toilet on-board the KC-135 aircraft, the USAF is investigating alternatives currently on the market. USAF is searching for a cheap, proven design that is already certified airworthy by the DoD or FAA. The toilet should, at a minimum, meet the following requirements: 1. Increased capacity versus the current 4.5 gallon system.. 2. Fit in to a floor space of 40 inches by 48 inches. 3. Allow servicing through use of ground servicing ?suck-trucks?. It is acceptable to plumb this connection inside the fuselage instead of adding an external port. 4. Be self-cleaning after every use. 5. Be able to be cleaned, sanitized and disinfected with commercially available chemicals. 7. Combustible materials must meet requirements of FAR 25.853 and 25.1359. 8. Be corrosion resistant. 9. The toilet must meet all standards in MIL-STD-810F Change 3, including certification for use in explosive atmospheres. 10. Use either AC or DC power for the toilet assembly. AC power shall be obtained from the aircraft?s AC power bus; DC power shall be obtained from the aircraft?s switched DC power bus. This request for information and an associated ROM for the effort shall not be deemed to commit the Government to contract for the subject effort. Your response to the above, as well as any additional information or opinions you choose to furnish, will be greatly appreciated and will be considered as OC-ALC formulates and executes its strategy for this initiative. POC: OC-ALC/LCM, Attn: Shirley Harper, Tinker AFB OK 73145, phone (405) 736-5749, e-mail Shirley.Harper@tinker.af.mil, not later than 18 Aug 2004.
