- NA Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 15, intends to negotiate a commercial sole source contract with Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This procurement is to obtain a maintenance agreement plan for one (1) Acuson KinetDx digital review and image management system located at VA Medical Center, 4801 Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64128. The procurement will specifically provide for ongoing parts, remedial service, repairs, and maintenance to include proprietary software maintenance and updates. The Government intends to award a firm, fixed price contract. Period of performance will be the base year of October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005 with option for four (4) years beyond base year. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all inquiries received within ten (10) days after date of publication of this special notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
