- Description
- Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Oregon State University Oregon Climate Service (OCS) and Spatial Climate Analysis Service (SCAS) for the office of National Weather Service located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Purpose of proposed contract is to develop proof of concept for an improvement to the software used by Western Regional Forecast Centers (WRFCs). OCS and SCAS will develop a new set of Parameter Elevation Regressions on an Independent Slopes Model (PRISM) maps targeted to meteorological regimes. PRISM climatology is a fundamental component of Mountain Mapper software suite used to reflect the long term mean patterns observed in precipitation in areas of high relief terrain. Oregon State University OCS and SCAS created PRISM in the early 1990. They are the sole maintainer of the computer code and the methodology for the PRISM maps. This notice may represent the only official notice. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of $100,000.00.
