Description
This notice is for Market interest in potential acquisition of TARGET FLARES for MiG 21, MiG 23, and MiG 27 aircraft. There is not a requirement for this acquisition at this time. Please respond with your interest and technical capabilities by July 30, 2004. Note 25 Applies. Submit information to: Shelly Robacker@us.army.mil or Steve.Herman@us.army.mil. Or mail information to U.S. Army Field Support Command ATTN: AMSFS-CCA-R Rock Island, IL 61299. Major requirements for this acquisition would be: 1. The TARGET FLARE should be 100 kg Caliber and should be compatible to external suspension from the MiG 21, MiG 23, and MiG 27 aircraft. the fuzes and arming scheme should be compatible with the MiG 21, MiG 23, and MiG 27. 2. The FLARE should be compatible with both electrical as well as mechanical fuze. The time of fuze setting should be variable and determined in accordance with the required altitude of illumination. 3. The shelf life of the TARGET FLARE with the fuze should not be less than 10 years with a provision to extend life to 15 years with or without refurbishment. 4. The TARGET FLARE must be capable of being released from altitudes up to 15 km and airspeeds up to 1200 kph. 5. The target illuminating time during the fall should not be less than 7 minutes. 6. The target illuminating power of the TARGET FLARE should not be less than 1 million candles. 7. The reliability of the target flare should not be less then 90%.
