- The U.S. Geological Survey, Yucca Mountain Project Branch Environmental Science Team has a requirement to collect geochemical and isotopic data intended to evaluate the presence or absence of a drift shadow zone beneath natural 0.5-m to 1.5-m diameter lithophysal cavities. The contractor will be required to perform seismic reflection surveys over part of a 1,000-m length of Experimental Studies Facility tunnel between stations 22+00 and 32+00 Seismic reflection arrays will cover an area of tunnel walls approximately between the invert to 1-m above the spring line on the right rib. Access to underground workings at Yucca Mountain requires that the contractor must adhere to Department of Energy health and safety guidelines including receiving training in procedures appropriate to work in the Yucca Mountain underground environment. It is anticipated that the RFQ (04CRQQ0246) will be available on or before August 2, 2004 at the following web address: http://ideasec.nbc.gov. No hard copies of the solicitation will be available. An original plus three (3) written copies of the quote/proposal will be requested. Proposal/Quotes can not be submitted via Electronic Commerce (EC). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 541360. The proposed contract is 100% set aside for small business concerns. See Note 1.
