- A sole source solicitation will be issued to ABB, Inc., 10300 Henri-Bourassa, Ville St.Laurent, Canada, for two Unitrol F Series Static Exciters. The scope of work consists of the contractor furnishing all supervision, engineering, labor, materials, and equipment to perform the following work: a) Design, prepare drawings and data, manufacture, shop test, prepare and load for shipment, and deliver f.o.b. destination two complete digital excitation systems for the Lost Creek Powerhouse. The exciters for these systems shall be Unitrol F Series Static Exciters manufactured by ABB, Inc. The power system stabilizers (PSS) for these excitation systems shall comply with all the requirements of this specification; b) Remove two existing static excitation s ystems; c) Install, commission, test, and make ready for commercial operation these two new excitation systems, including furnishing and installing wire, cable, conduit, cable trays, and all other required appurtenances; d) Provide training to Government p ersonnel in the theory, operation and maintenance of the new excitation system equipment. This solicitation will be sent to ABB Canada on or about August 20,2004. This information is provided for possible subcontracting opportunities.
