Description
Project work includes construction of levees, construction of a channel, construction of a culvert structure, and relocation of various utilities and roadways. (1) Project work includes constructing levees south of Highway PR-22 extending from high ground on the west terminating at high ground on the highway embankment of Highway PR-10, then continuing from high ground on the highway embankment of Highway PR-10 to high ground on the highway embankment of Highway PR-22. This levee will require the construction of road ramps over the levee on the west end at a housing development. The roads impacted are Rodrigues Street and Martinez Street. This levee will also serve as a plug to the Rio Santiago channel where flow will be reversed in this channel. (2) Project work also includes construction of a levee approximately parallel and off set from the Tanama River extending from high ground on the southern end to the embankment of Highway PR-10 on the north. This levee will block access to land parcels on the east side and at the request of the local sponsor, an access road will be constructed on the south east side of the levee. (3) Project work also includes construction of a channel beginning at a point on the Rio Santiago channel south of Highway PR-22 running parallel to San Francisco Road, under Highway PR-10, and terminating at the Arecibo River. (4) Project work also includes construction of a culvert structure consisting of six, 72-inch diameter pipes under Highway PR-10. This culvert structure is proposed to be installed using micro tunneling techniques so as to avoid disruption to traffic on Highway PR-10. (5) Project work also includes relocation of various utilities and roadways within the limits of the proposed construction. Magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The performance period will be 540 calendar days from notice to proceed. There will be a price evaluation preference for certified Hubzone small business concerns that comply with the requirements in the solicitation as stipulated in FAR 19.1307. This solicitation will be issued on or about 06 August 2004 and open on or about 16 September 2004. The solicitation will be posted on our website.
