Description
The U.S. Department of Education, Office of the Secretary, intends to award a purchase order to purchase pavilion space at the National Black Family Reunion Celebration, a two-day event that is recognized as the largest, most significant family event in the nation. The event is organized by the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. and will be held on the National Mall in Washington, DC on September 11-12, 2004. This award will include: one 60' X 60' themed pavilion/exhibit space (including tables, chairs, electricity, stage and sound); access to more than 500,000 African American parents, youth and influencers over two days; Logo, name and URL link on the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. website; Logo placement or mention in promotional materials (press releases, print advertisement, and radio spots) and weekend activity guide; and prominently displayed signage at the Health Pavilion. This purchase order is intended as a sole source award to the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., 633 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20004. This will be the nineteenth Annual Black Family Reunion Celebration and the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., has extensive knowledge and experience in performing this specific task. Award will be based on experience performing similar work and price. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All responsible sources may submit a quotation that, if timely received, shall be considered by the agency. Length of contract: ends September 12, 2004.
