- Description
- The National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service, National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC) proposes to award a sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) to the University of Texas (UTD), Wm. B. Hanson Center for Space Sciences for to develop and install a fully automated system to convert raw data records recorded on Special Sensor-Ions, Electrons, and Scintillation or SSIES-2 data recorded on Defense Meteorological Satellite Program satellites into usable geophysical parameters. The principal investigator(s) will be Dr. R. Heelis and Dr. M. Hairston. Since this derivation is so complex, it has taken several years to develop, test and evaluate a processing system that is fully automated. Both Dr. Heelis and Dr. Hairston have extensive experience and knowledge to develop and install this system. No solicitation is available ? this notice is for informational purposes only. This acquisition is being conducted under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE $100,000). Questions should be submitted in writing to the contracting officer either by fax or email.
