- Description
- The Internal Revenue Service requires armed guard security services for the Fresno Internal Revenue Service Center (FIRSC) located at 5045 E Butler Avenue, Fresno, CA, and associated off-site facility locations within the surrounding area. Services include provision of armed Security Officers (i.e. - fixed post, interior foot patrol, exterior roving patrol (patrolling by means of motor vehicle), and motorized patrol vehicles, to patrol and protect government property from unlawful entry by unauthorized persons into IRS buildings; and Canine (K-9) explosive detection teams and K-9 transport vehicles. The contractor shall provide the management, supervision, labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and supplies necessary (which includes uniforms, footwear, firearms and ammunition) to provide armed guard security services, in addition to planning, scheduling, coordinating, and assuring effective performance at the FIRSC and associated facility locations. In accordance with Part 19 of the FAR, this procurement has been deemed a total 8(a) set-aside. As such, competition will be limited exclusively to small business concerns expressly certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) for participation in the SBA?s 8(a) Program. The NAICS Code identified for this procurement is 561612. The resultant contract will be a firm fixed-price contract that includes a contract term to cover a base period, October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005, plus up to four 12-month renewal options. The solicitation will be posted electronically on or about August 13, 2004. The solicitation will be issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP). The solicitation document will be posted on the internet at http://www.procurement.irs.treas.gov/. No paper copies of the solicitation or any amendments will be mailed.
