- The U. S. National Park Service (NPS) - Midwest Regional Office intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the removal of existing wood water tower and 15,000 gallon water storage tank. And erect a new steel tower and 15,000 glass-lined steel tank as well as install water pumps and controls at Isle Royale National Park-Mott Island, Houghton, Michigan. The work of this contract consists of the general construction of a steel tower for a steel glass lined water tank, galvanized steel water distribution piping, control values, pumps, and level controls between the new elevated tank and filtration system, electrical distribution to the Pump House and miscellaneous electrical, chlorination of the system, and removal of existing wood structure, water tower and miscellaneous piping. This acquisition will be unrestricted, open to both large and small businesses. This acquisition will be solicited and awarded pursuant to (PL 100-656) Small Business Competitiveness Program. The applicable NAICS code is 237110 and the corresponding size standard is $28.5 . The estimated price range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The tentative IFB issue date is on or about August 19, 2004. A firm-fixed price contract will be issued, with a performance period of approximately 150 days from the Notice to Proceed. The anticipated award date is September 23, 2004. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the agency. The IFB documents will be available electronically on the Federal Business Opportunities Website at: http://fedbizopps.gov under IFB number I631004M090. Paper copies will not be available. Once the solicitation is posted, it is incumbent upon the interested parties to review this site for any updates/amendments. Note: prospective offeror's must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) http://www.ccr.gov in order to be eligible for the award. CCR registration requires applicants to have a DUNS number. This also serves as a presolication notice.
