- Description
- The U.S. Forest Service, National Forests in Florida, intends to negotiate a sole source contract with the Florida State University/Florida Natural Area Inventory (FNAI) for performing natural resource inventories of lands within the Florida National Scenic Trail corridor. The FNAI is a non-profit organization administered by the Florida State University. The FNAI has developed and maintains a comprehensive database of the biological resources of Florida and is the only comprehensive repository of such information. The State of Florida has authorized the management and interpretion of the natural resource database to FNAI, and has directed all users of natural resource inventory data to utilize FNAI as the natural resource data clearinghouse. All State of Florida natural resource survey projects are required to use and supplement FNAI data when conducting official natural resource inventories. The FNAI is the only entity authorized by the State of Florida to perform the required natural resource inventories. This notice is for informational purposes only.
