Description: Purchase Feed Rail for Robins Air Force Base per below Purchase Description. Please quote FOB Destination pricing. This is a synopsis solicitation for commercial items prepared IAW the format in FAR subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested. The following clauses are applicable to subject solicitation: 52.212-1—Instructions to Offerors – Commercial; 52.212-2—Evaluation – commercial Items – Price and only price related factors; all or none; 52.212-3 – Offeror Representations and Certification – Commercial Items; 52.212-4 – Contract Terms and Conditions – Commercial Items; 52.212-5 – Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders – Commercial Items. In accordance with clause 52.212-2, the evaluation factors shall be price and price related factors, as well as adherence to the purchase description. PURCHASE DESCRIPTION: Enclosed Continuous Conductor Feed Rail System General Description— A totally A totally enclosed, sliding contact electrification system – a feed rail system. The power connection can be configured either at an end of the system (End Feed) or located at some point along the system (Line Feed). A pick-up trolley rides inside a 2”W x 3.4”H PVC housing containing a minimum seven (7) independent, continuous copper conductors. KIND OF MATERIAL: HOUSING—Material: PVC; Operating Temperature Range: -30°C to +60°C (-22°F to +140°F) or better; Flammability: Self Extinguishing; Joint And Support Brackets: Galvanized Steel With Epoxy Powdercoat Finish; Housing Sealing Strip(s): Neoprene; and Conductors: Copper, continuous through total length of feed rail. KIND OF MATERIAL: TROLLEY—Body: Rigid Nylon; Ball Bearing Load Wheels: Polyacetal (POM); Contact Brushes: Carbon/Bronze Alloy; and Compression Springs: Stainless Steel. ELECTRICAL DATA: CONTINUOUS COPPER CONDUCTORS—45 Ampere continuous rated or more and 50 Ampere 30 minute motor rated or more; ELECTRICAL DATA: HOUSING—Volume Resistivity DIN 53482: 4x1015 W/cm (10.16x1015 W/in.); Dielectric Strength: 31.2 kV/mm (792 kV/in.); ELECTRICAL DATA: TROLLEY—7 or more independently wired conductor contacts, 25 or more Ampere continuous rated or better each contact, and 27 or more Ampere 30 minute motor rated or better each contact. DIMENSIONS: Housing—Approximately 2”W x 3.4”H. Housings may be joined to form total length. Continuous Copper Conductors (Length of system). PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION: A pick-up trolley rides inside a PVC housing containing seven (7) or more independent, continuous copper conductors. The trolley contacts the conductors inside the PVC housing providing power to moving systems such as cranes. RESTRICTIVE OR SIGNIFICANT ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: System must be capable of operating through the full operating temperature range of -30°C to +60°C. Housings must provide a housing seal to prevent entry of dirt, moisture and corrosive materials. IF PART OF AN ASSEMBLY, THE LOCATION WITHIN THE ASSEMBLY: The feed rail system will be attached to existing bridge cranes to provide the bridge and hoist electrification. The system will run the length of the rails and the bridge. ESSENTIAL OPERATING CONDITIONS: No special operating conditions. SPECIAL FEATURES, IF ANY: Compact size – approximately 2”W x 4”H. Enclosed housings are sealed with neoprene sealing strip(s). Conductors are continuous throughout total length of feed rail. Trolley speed rated at 100 meters per minute or greater. INTENDED USE: Provide bridge and hoist electrification of bridge cranes. OPERATION TO BE PERFORMED: Provide bridge and hoist electrification of bridge cranes. EQUIPMENT WITH WHICH THE ITEM IS TO BE USED: Bridge cranes in buildings 81, 82 and 83. OTHER REQUIREMENTS, AS APPROPRIATE: Festoon systems not allowed.
