- In accordance with FAR Parts 5.2 and 6.302, this notice advertises the government's intent to negotiate and award a sole source contract for solid waste collection services. The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission regulates solid waste collection companies in the state as franchise territories. At present, Waste Management of Washington, Inc. holds Certificate of Public Convenience G-237 and is the only authorized vendor to provide this type of service in our collection area, which includes locations at Marblemount, Newhalem, Diablo, and other NPS sites along State Route 20. We intend to negotiate a contract for a base year plus four option years, for a total contract period of up to five years (November 1, 2004 - October 31, 2009). Refer to Numbered Note 22 for more information.
