Description
SOURCES SOUGHT - The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN, has a requirement for Human Blood and Blood Products. The FSC Code is 6506 and the NAICS Code for small business size standards is 621991, $8.5 Mil. The anticipated term of contract is from October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005 with one 12-month option to renew. A Firm Fixed Price contract will be awarded. The estimated requirements include: 6200 units/year Red Blood Cells, Leukocyte Reduced; 1500 units/year Platelets, Apheresis, Leukocyte Reduced; 3000 units/year Plasma, Frozen <24 hours; 400 units/year Plasma Cryoreduced; 120 units/year Cryoprecipitated AHF; 40 units/year Cryoprecipitated AHF Pooled; plus miscellaneous blood products and services. Contractor must be able to provide the VAMC’s requirements for Human Blood and Blood Products on an as needed basis to include emergency deliveries, to be made within 60 minutes of notification of need. All responsible sources having the ability to meet these requirements and provide supplies listed above to the VAMC Minneapolis should respond to this “Sources Sought” announcement by Noon CDT, August 13, 2004. Provide a detailed written proposal on company letterhead or other proposal form, including item description, pricing, and past performance history of your company. IN THE EVENT THAT NO ADDITIONAL SOURCES ARE IDENTIFIED VIA THE SOURCES SOUGHT PORTION OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT, the US Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN, under Statutory Authority 41 USC 253 (c)(1), anticipates entering into a sole source procurement with the American Red Cross North Central Blood Services, St. Paul, Minnesota. The above authority is cited and justification is made based on the determination that the Government’s minimum needs can best be satisfied by supplies and services that are available from one source per FAR 6.302-1(b)(1).
