- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City, Panama City, Florida, intends to award a sole source purchase to Benthos, Inc. of 49 Edgerton drive, MA. 02556 for the purchase of equipment that will be used to augment and upgrade the current procedure that is used to do a bottom survey at the Coastal Test Range. This acquisition is unsuitable for full and open competition for the following reasons. The Interface Module System purchased for this upgrade be 100% backward compatible and easily integrated with the existing software. This level of compatibility and integration is required to prevent errors in surveying and bottom profiling. This company is the manufacturer of the existing software that we have on base and the equipment.. Thus, Benthos, Inc. is the only vendor that can meet this requirement. Use of any other vendor would result in substantial duplication of cost to t he Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition. All work will be performed on the Naval Support Activity Panama City, Panama City, FL 32407-7001. NAICS Code 334510 applies. SBA Size Standard is 500 Employees. FSC is 2090. Note 22 applies.
