- Solicitation to be issued on or after 07-30-04. Facility operation and maintenance support services includes as a primary function the operation of heating, ventilating, conveying systems, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and maintenance and operation of plants, buildings, laboratories and equipment for the EPA Environmental Science Center, Fort Meade, Md. It is situated on approx. 24 acres within the boundaries of Fort Meade, a US Military installation. The facility has an approximate size of 167,000 square feet of which approximately 89,000 square feet is occupied by EPA program offices. The facility accomodates 154 offices for scientists and staff. It consists of two (2) buildings with adjacent parking lots and grounds. The main building houses 72 wet and instrumental chemical and microbiological laboratories in addition to other administrative meeting and training rooms. The other building is a waste neutralization building. Mechanical operations are either in a penthouse or in the basement. The Service Contract Act (SCA) will apply.This is a 100% set aside for small business concerns. The NAICS Code is 561210. A site visit is also scheduled for this acquisition at the Fort Meade location. Date, instructions and directions will be forwarded with the solicitation.
