Description
The item to be procured is CLIN 0001: Inlet Valve Body, Nsn: 4820-01-509-5498, P/N: 5-1-1054. The Inlet Valve Body is a small rubber molded part used on the M40/42 Series Masks. It serves as a sealing gasket between the mask facepiece and the ma sk filter canister. It also serves as a base for the facepiece inlet disc valve which prevents exhaled/filtered air inside the mask from re-entering the mask filter canister. The Inlet Valve Body is made of Ethylene propylene (EPDM and EP) type rubber and measures about .202-inch height by 1.5 inch in diameter. A groove around the periphery of the part and centered within the .202 height provides a mounting surface when installed on the Mask facepiece. Six sprockets equally spaced and connected at the cen ter of the part provide for open space at the center of the part to allow filtered air to enter the facepiece. Due to is dual functionally on the mask it is critical that the strict requirements of the TDP (dimensions, surface finishes on sealing areas, rubber properties, etc.) be met. The item is packaged in small cardboard boxes each containing 2 discs in a plastic bag. Past performance factors will be evaluated for award. Offerors must demonstrate successful past performance on relevant contracts. Award of a 5 year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity, Firm fixed Price contract is anticipated.
