- Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Archipelago Marine Research LTD for the office of National Marine Fisheries Service, Auke Bay Laboratory located in Juneau, Alaska. Purpose of proposed contract is to complete both physical and biological classification and mapping of mapping of about 900 km of unclassified shoreline imagery collected during a ?ShoreZone? biophysical inventory of about 1800 km of shoreline of northern southeast Alaska. This mapping is needed to support the mandates of Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act. Contractor has been identified as the only source who can complete work under proposed contract because of their knowledge of the biotic mapping techniques for the ShoreZone Mapping Systems and their participation in June 2004 ShoreZone Surveys of northern southeast Alaska. This notice may represent the only official notice. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $50,000.00.
