Description
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Mammal Laboratory (NMML) seeks to charter an ocean-going vessel along with the captain and crew during Aug 25 thru Sept 5, 2004. The vessel will serve as a support vessel for the capture of harbor seals in Cook Inlet, Alaska. The support vessel and captain must have experience operating in Cook Inlet and nearby regions and must be able to operate safely under the poor weather conditions possible in Cook Inlet in August to September. The captain and crew must have experience operating boats in support of scientific research. The vessel must be Coast Guard approved for commercial fishing use and must carry all required safety equipment including fire onboard the vessel. The vessel shall be equipped with modern navigation and commercial equipment and support vessel with shallow draft less than or equal to 3 feet. The vessel must have accommodations for captain, crew and up to 10 NMML scientists. Quotes should include fuel and food costs within daily rate. This is a full and open procurement. All responsible, responsive offers will be considered. A request for quote providing detailed statement of work will be issued on or about July 13, 2004.
