- ***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Thermionics Northwest, Inc. for the purchase of one (1) EMC02.5-4/B6/LM Precision Sample Manipulator and, the necessary accessories, to incorporate the equipment into NIST?s existing Thermionics Northwest, Inc equipment.****** The requested High Precision Sample Manipulator and accessories will be used with the following existing equipment manufactured by Thermionics Northwest, Inc.: RFH-275-133-4 feed through assembly, FRM-133-25 rotary feed through, GB-16/0.6/OSP offset polar gearbox, SMR-1 sample mount with custom bias assembly, STLC/TTC/LR 1.3? OD sample transfer assembly, STLC/TTC/HRN-0.6 radiant resistive heater assembly, STLC/TTC/CLNI-1/CEI-I LN2 indirect cooling assembly, STLC/TTC/LR option for high performance thermal operation and ST/UPT custom support tube. In addition, Thermionics Northwest, Inc. is the sole manufacturer & provider of these systems components. Only equipment from Thermionics Northwest, Inc. can ensure 100% compatibility and interchangeability with the existing Thermionics Northwest, Inc. components to ensure the ability to transfer samples for correlated measurements.******Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 112 days after receipt of order.******The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 333314, and the size standard is 500 employees.******No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by July 9, 2004.******A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
