Description
NA The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be issuing a Invitation for Bid for Maintenance Dredging. The proposed work consists of maintenance dredging of the Kennebunk River Federal navigation project in Kennebunk and Kennebunkport, Maine. The work consists of dredging of about 47,000 cubic yards of predominantly sand and silt from the 8 foot and 6 foot channel and the two 6 foot anchorages. The dredge material will be removed using a mechanical dredge and scows. About 10,000 CY of sand from the 8 foot ent rance channel will be placed nearshore off Gooch Beach in Kennebunk; and about 37,000 CY of material will be disposed of at the Cape Arundel Disposal Site in the Atlantic Ocean, about 4 miles away. Dredging and disposal window is from November 15 to March 31. Dredging operations will be permitted 24 hours per day and 7 days per week. The last maintenance dredging was in 1985. THIS SOLICITATION IS 100% Small Business Set Aside. Solicitation shall be made available via the Internet on or about 7/31/03. No paper copies of the solicitation or amendments will be available. The firms interested must register on the Internet to receive the solicitation. Registration instructions are available on the Internet at http://www.nae.usace.army.mil as well as the m edia by which the solicitation will be made available. Amendments, if any, to this solicitation will be made available at this Internet site. Neither telephonic, mailed nor fax requests will be accepted. Those registering are responsible for the accurac y of the information on the registration list. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the New England District.
