- Description
- NAICS Code: 611699 The United States Environmental Protection Agency, under the authority of FAR Part 13 intends to award a sole source purchase order to the American Academy for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). The NAICS code for this requirement is 611699, the size standard is $6 Million. The contractor shall provide expert services to continue development and implementation of a strategy that will integrate the SunWise program into science museums nationwide. This program, known as SunWise Museums, was initiated in April 2003. The Program is currently in Phase II, which will expand the program's reach and target an outreach campaign to an additional 40-50 science centers in the fall of 2004 and spring of 2005. AAAS has provided support on this program since its inception, and has demonstrated a level of expertise in the SunWise program, facilitating focus groups with science museums nationwide, and access to an extensive network of national experts in the science center and informal learning institutions network, which make it the only reasonably available source to continue this work. The estimated period of performance for this order will be 11/01/04- 10/31/05. The proposed contract action is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). However, all responsible sources may submit a response to this notice which, if timely received, will be considered by the Agency. All interested parties must demonstrate 1) thorough knowledge of the SunWise program, 2) the ability to gather science museum education directors and convene and facilitate focus groups with science museums nationwide, 3) experience promoting and implementing education programs of a national scope for school children, and 4) adequate facilities and events planning expertise to hold workshops with at least 40 attendees. Responses must provide specific examples and descriptions showing how they meet criteria numbers 2, 3, and 4 to support any claimed experience. Responses must be received no later than 4:00PM/EDT on July 9, 2004 to be considered timely. All respondents must identify their business size under NAICS code 611699. A determination not to complete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE. Information will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All responses must be submitted in writing to (US MAIL ONLY) U.S. EPA, Yvonne Stiso, Contracting Officer (6202R), 1200 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20460, (EXPRESS SERVICE ONLY) U.S. EPA, Yvonne Stiso, Contracting Officer (6202R), 1300 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20004; or by e-mail to stiso.yvonne@epa.gov.
