Description
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Keyport is soliciting for disposal services for various regulated and non-regulated batteries, such as carbon zinc, lithium, NiCad, alkaline, and thermo. The batteries will be required to be picked up from NUWC Division Keyport?s Hawthrone, NV site. All materials must be handled in accordance with Nevada state requirements and the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). The contractor must transport the materials to a Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) permitted Treatment Storage and Disposal facility (TSD). This procurement will be solicited and awarded as an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract for a base ordering period of one year, with four one-year option periods. The estimated quantity requirements for each year are identical and are as follows: 150,000 pounds of carbon zinc batteries, 5,000 pounds of lithium batteries, 1,000 pounds of NiCad batteries, 2,000 pounds of alkaline batteries, and 1,000 pounds of thermo batteries. Pick-up is required within 10 days after issuance of each delivery order. FOB Destination: Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Keyport, Hawthorne NV 89415. This requirement will be procured under FAR Part 12 commercial acquisition procedures utilizing best value evaluation of offers. The applicable NAICS Code for this requirement is 562211 with a size standard of $10.5 million. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued by 30 Jun 04. The closing date of the solicitation will be 12 Jul 04, unless a later date is specified in the solicitation. When issued, the RFQ will be posted on the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) web link www.neco.navy.mil and on the Keyport Acquisition homepage at http://www-keyport.kpt.nuwc.navy.mil/NE CO/Solicitation.htm. Offerors wishing to submit a quote are responsible for downloading their own copy of the RFQ from this website and to frequently monitor the site for any amendments to the RFQ. No telephone or fax requests for the RFQ package will be accepted. An email request to powersm@kpt.nuwc.navy.mil will be accepted in the event an offeror experiences problems downloading the RFQ from the NECO or Keyport websites. The offeror must have a current registration in the DoD Central Contractor Registration database (http://www.ccr.gov ). Any questions should be submitted in writing via the fax number provided above or e-mailed to powersm@kpt.nuwc.navy.mil. No bidders list will be maintained by this office. No paper copies of the RFQ / amendments will be mailed. Failure to respond to the electronically posted RFQ and associated amendments prior to the date and time set fo r receipt of quotes may render your offer nonresponsive and result in rejection of the same.
