Description
The Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB), has a requirement for one or more contractors to provide Brand Name or Equal high-powered (Jennings) Vacuum Capacitors and Components. Presently, Jennings Technology Corporation is the only known manufacturing firm capable of meeting BBG/IBB's requirement. Any other contractor responding to this solicitation must provide a history of successful application in equipment used by BBG/IBB. If a contractor wishes to offer a capacitor manufactured different from the above listed manufacturer (Jennings), they must submit certificates showing that the capacitors being offered had successfully operated in the same type transmitters as those used by BBG/IBB. For each capacitor being offered, manufacturers and suppliers shall certify that all capacitors being offered meet all of the electrical performance conditions to include voltage, leakage currents and interelectrode capacitances. All capacitors shall list the drive system specifications including the tuning method, maximum torque and direct pull in pounds (lbs.), turns ratio over the capacitors tuning range, and the capacitor/ turns slope in pico-farads/turns (pF/turn) or pico-farads/millimeter (pF/mm). All physical dimensions are to meet the original manufacturer's specifications and have no burrs, projections or sharp edges. The external surfaces are to be plated with the same metal and to have the same thickness as specified by the original manufacturer and be free of corrosion, stains and discoloration's. The Government anticipates awarding an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to meet this need. The term of the contract shall be for one year from date of contract award with options to extend for four additional one-year periods. It is anticipated the Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued on or about July 23, 2004. Firms interested in receiving a copy of Solicitation No. BBGCON3604S5458-KSH must respond in writing to the Contracting Officer at the above address or via facsimile at 202-260-0855 or via Email to kharper@ibb.gov. All requests for copies of the solicitation must include the solicitation number, company name, mailing address, telephone and facsimile numbers, and name of contact person. No telephone requests for this solicitation will be honored. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the Agency. This notice is not a RFP.
