- Description
- The City of Brawley (City) Wastewater Treatment Plant (WTP) Wetlands (Brawley WTP Wetlands) is currently being designed by the Imperial Irrigation District (IID). The proposed area including 3 wetlands cells and a riparian area is located on 35 acres adjacent to the Brawley WTP in Imperial County, California. Construction of the Brawley wetlands site is expected to be complete and ready for planting in January, 2005. Approximately, 28,000 native wetlands plants (emergent vegetation include Bulrush and Sedges) and riparian trees (including 4,000 Willow and 4,000 Cottonwood trees) need to be provided, planted, and maintained at the Brawley WTP Wetland for the Government. These plants will be obtained and provided by the contractor and made available for the wetland when construction is completed. All plants are to be locally grown in the desert southwest region. The contractor is to supply, plant, and provide one (1) year of maintenance for the target plant species. An additional quote for an option second year of plant weeding and maintenance is also requested. This requirement is being procured under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and is set aside for small businesses. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code is 561730 and the size standard is six million dollars (average gross receipts over a three-year period). It is recommended that all prospective offerors make a site visit to examine the location of the work. A formal site visit is tentatively scheduled for August 6, 2004. The firm date will be included in the RFQ. Effective October 1, 2003, prospective vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR) prior to the award of a contract. You may register by going to www.ccr.gov. You will need your Dun & Bradstreet number and banking information. It is anticipated that a Request for Quote (RFQ) will be issued on or about July 23, 2004, and awarded on or about September 17, 2004; however, all dates in this announcement are subject to change. The RFQ will be issued via www.fedbizopps.gov/ but the Government reserves the right to issue the solicitation on paper or CD-ROM if the website becomes inoperable or if the Contracting Officer determines it is in the Government's best interest to do so. Offerors should register on the website to be included on the offerors list in order to receive notifications pertaining to the solicitaiton, or visit the web site after July 23, 2004, in order to access the soliciation and any subsequent amendments and/or notices.
