This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to vendor questions. The following are answers to questions from vendors. 1. Have these trophies been procured by NASA in the past? ANSWER: NO, we have never procured a replica of the International Space Station (ISS) configured as a trophy to be issued as an award. 2. Are pictures available? ANSWER: Any information on the models, i.e. drawings, graphics, measurements, can be obtained on the Request for Quote (RFQ), http://jsc-web-pub.jsc.nasa.gov/bd01/EPS/NNJ04069215Q 3. Is there a specific requirement for the base, wood, (plywood, walnut, particle board) plastic, stone? ANSWER: The base should be large enough to support the model and the engraved plaque. Vendors may use creativity in their solution, ie whether it is wood, Plexiglas, crystal, etc, whatever, enhances the model and not detract. 4. There is no requirement for engraving, but is there a requirement for the brass plaque to be supplied. ANSWER: There is no requirement for the brass plaque to be supplied. 5. Do the trophies need to be packaged separately? ANSWER: YES, the trophies need to be packaged separately for protection and safety of the model not esthetics. 6. Creativity in final solution is encouraged especially if the detail is enhanced. 7. What material is requested for the Space Station trophies ANSWER: The type of material specified for the International Space Station (ISS) is specified in the on-line RFP as silver or grey metal. 8. Can the replicas be cast resin with wire armature inside the castings, or do you prefer case aluminum? ANSWER: Creativity in final solution is encouraged especially if the detail is enhanced 10. ANSWER: Yes the budget for the project has been determined, but it is considered procurement sensitive and information we do not relese to offerors. 12. It appears that you want the ISS as a replica and scale model mounted inside a box. ANSWER: The ISS trophy does not have to be mounted inside a box. The box is a packing box for protection. See answer to Question 5. 13. Looked at two of the websites you referenced and saw a lot of CAD drawings and colored pictures. Is there somewhere else that shows or lists the details that I am missing? ANSWER: The attachments on the web along with the cad drawings provide all the elements included.
