- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to address potential offerors questions. Question 1: What I do not yet understand is that you "must not require liquid nitrogen cooling" however a filter wheel is required. Typically a filter wheel for best performance is integrated into the LN2 dewar which conflicts with the "no LN2" specification. Please clarify this point. Answer to Question 1: The filter wheels are optional items (CLIN 0003), Option II and (CLIN 0004), Option III. The Government is aware that a filter wheel or filters will introduce noise into the system, however the targets that we typically measure have very high IR outputs. The system is required to have a stirling cooler or equivalent because the system is intended to be used both in the laboratory environment and in the field where the liquid nitrogen is not always convenient or practical.
