Description
Under authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), the Government anticipates entering into sole source procurement with UpToDate, Inc., 34 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA 02481-1903 for access to the UpToDate electronic clinical reference resource. NAICS code 511210 applies to this procurement. The UpToDate medical data base proprietary system is owned wholly by UpToDate, Inc. UpToDate will provide clinical reference material in electric form, primarily, evidence based ready reference on current consult-level topics in: adult primary care, internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, endocrinology, diabetes, family practice, gastorenterology, hepatology, hematology, oncology, infections diseases, nephrology, hypertension, obstetrics, gynecology, women's health, pulmonary, critical care, and rheumatology 24-hours/day, 7-days/week. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government?s minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from one source. This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302 and under Commercial Item Acquisition, FAR Part 12. Interested persons may identify their capability to respond to this requirement or to submit proposals by June 25, 2004. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received on or before June 25, 2004 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses are to be mailed to: Lee Leonard Wiech (90C), Minneapolis VA Medical Center, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417
